Dragon 32
1982
The Dragon was built in Wales and featured 32k of memory, high-resolution colour graphics and a proper typewriter style keyboard. Very successful and followed by the Dragon 64 with 64k of memory.
Commodore 64
1982
A very successful machine for Commodore, lots of memory and good graphics made this the game players choice.
Jupiter Ace
1983
Created by ex Sinclair employees, the Ace used Forth as its operating language as opposed to BASIC. Looking very similar to the ZX80, the Ace only had monochrome graphics and could not compete with the likes of the Spectrum. Not many sold and a very rare find!
Amstrad CPC464
1984
More than two million computers were sold. The 464 contained everything you needed, a built in cassette deck and a mono or colour monitor. One nice design feature is that the power supply for the computer was actually built into the monitor. Followed by the 6128 with built in 3" disk drive.
